Brook Gardens
Working in suburbia is as much of a challenge as working in the city. Our philosophy of designing moderns well-crafted buildings that fit with their local environmental context was not lost in this speculative design for a house in south-west London.
While being unashamedly modern in its design with double height internal spaces, materials used are certainly not alien to the locality. A combination of solid brickwork, rooting the building to the ground, and light coloured vertical timber cladding to the upper storey, creates a contemporary solution in a well established semi-rural place.
Large full-height windows are scaled to enhance the modern design of the house, to create views of the garden and to allow natural light to flow into the rooms of the house
